===== Killing Time ======
(just one of the many fantastical MOD philes from BlueGerbil!)
Other files on AOL...
March, 1994 "Thrill of the Hunt"--Jungle/Techno
May 1994 "Wasted Youth I & II"--Techno/Pop--does not work on certain players
July 1994 "I Feel OK"--short Rock/Techno, my fave
Sept 1994 "Sunglass Theater"--Guitar rock--sounds out of tune on
certain players, such as
DMP
July 1994 "Silicon Heaven"--Techno/Industrial--the most heavily
downloaded of my MODS.
Really has NOTHING to do with
Red Dwarf...sorry to any
mislead by the desc.
Nov. 1994 "Primal Suspect"--Techno/Jungle/Rock--a sort of sequel to Thrill of the
Hunt. I'd like to wholeheartedly
apologize for the silly comments
about Humans being just animals
and all...I kind of agree with
it, but I shouldn't have taken
up so much damn sample space
with my views.
Jan. 1996 "Listerine Chug"--Rock--something I wrote on guitar and then
transcribed into the computer. My return
to the Mod genre. =-)
Jan. 1996 "Good" by Better Than Ezra--my first non-original MOD.
Feb. 1996 "Bitter Almonds"--piano/rock--inspired by Tori Amos and a girl
I know...
Mar. 1996 "Killing Time"--Goth rock/techno/soundtrack-y--inspired by dark
feelings. I think it's my best yet, but who
am I to judge, ya know?
(-A KIND NOTE ABOUT "KILLING TIME"-)
====================================
You see, the DMP program has never been
very good to my mods (those who've tried to
listen to "Sunglass Theater" with this particular
program can attest to that) and, well, for all it's
benefits, it fails to be able to read E-3, G-3, and any note
higher than C-5, at least with MY songs. There are certain
places in the song where the string section (in particular)
goes above C-5, so for the best results, try another
mod player.
As much as I LOOOVE DMP's ability to play MODs, 669s,
MTMs, whatever, it still has major limitations.
/=UPCOMING PROJECTS=\
=====================================
(I'm working on a sort of
"at least one Mod a month thing--
whether I'll have much time in
the next few months to write any
new ones...Bob only knows. I have
a couple saved up, to cover me until
at least the summer if I don't
have any new ones by then...otherwise
I'll just upload them soon.
I went on a MOD writing binge
a few weeks ago, and came out with
this one, and....)
-- "March of the Penguin" --a calm, pretty little
Mod about our furry Arctic friends. Has nothing to do
with "March of the Pigs".
-- "Short Attention Span" --a short, 2 minute grunge-rock
thingy. It's fun. Mind candy, ya know...
-- I'm also working on a version of Tori Amos's "Pretty
Good Year"
(samples???)
Ok, I tend to use a lot of samples that
I ripped from other MODs. For anyone who
sampled them and is now seeing some
shiny-nosed kid ripping off their hard
work so that he can make some bad pop song,
I thoroughly apologize. Please, let me know
if you have any samples that I've ripped,
and I'll credit you in the next thing that
I send out.
(-DISCLAIMER-)
This MOD is freeware. Distribute it, have fun, spread it around.
The more places I see it, the better I'll feel, really, so
just give it to as many people as possible. Computer music is
a hobby, not a profession, so I don't want any payment.
